By starting early, (puppies between 8-14 weeks) we can help prevent normal, undesirable, puppy behaviours such as: biting, digging, barking and chewing. We also teach our puppies acceptable social etiquette in a fun and friendly environment. They get to meet other puppies of the same age and learn how to behave appropriately around animals in a calm, respectful and friendly manner.
Basic manners like “come”, “sit”, “walking nicely on lead”, “handling’’, “stay”, “go to your bed” and “drop” are taught during the course, as well as some basic handling and calming techniques. It is important for owners and puppies to learn calm behaviour, such that puppies are not over stimulated and can cope with separation. During the classes we discuss many common puppy problems such as toilet training and suggest techniques and solutions in class. The training isn’t just for your puppy!
The Let’s Go Fido! Dream Puppy courses are held at Willoughby Vet Hospital, 193 High Street, Willoughby. All classes are weekly and the courses are between 5 weeks long. Costs $220inc GST. Click on the class you are interested in (on the right) for more information and start your sign up process.
After your puppy graduated the Let’s Go Fido! Dream Puppy course or for puppies older than 16 weeks, they can go straight into Walk & Train course, we build on the skills taught in the Dream Puppy course, whilst focusing on loose lead walking, recall (coming when called), and most importantly of all for a young dog, impulse control!
